Jeri Louise Bacon, 59, passed away on December 21 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. Born on November 10, 1966, in Alliance, Nebraska, Jeri was a beacon of kindness and faith. Her parents, Dick and Betty Bacon, welcomed her into the world, and her grandparents, George and Helen Bacon, as well as Oletha and Hubert Luellen, and grandfather Wes Anderson, shaped her into the compassionate soul she became. Jeri's siblings, John Bacon and Patti, and Jan Merrick and Todd Merrick, along with her special boyfriend, Dave Else, were by her side throughout her life. She was also surrounded by aunts Mary Minich and Doris Briggs, uncle Neil Petersen, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as cousins and an extended family of friends.
Jeri's greatest joy was her role as a foster grandparent, where she shared her love, encouragement, and warmth with the children she touched. Her strong faith guided her life, and her smile and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Jeri's passing has left a void, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Burial will take place in Hemingford Cemetery, with a memorial planned for January and further details to be announced. Memorials can be sent to the Foster Grandparent Program of Scottsbluff/Gering through the Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska in Jeri's name. Fond memories and condolences can be shared at www.dugankramer.com, and Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
