Philly Sports Report Cards: Eagles Soar, Sixers Struggle, and More! (2026)

The final grades are in for Philadelphia's sports teams, and it's time to review their performance! A season of triumphs and tribulations awaits!

Let's dive into the report cards and see how each team fared.

Eagles: An Undisputed A+

The Eagles, our teacher's pet, have earned the highest grade. Despite an offense that could be described as a rollercoaster, they dominated the 2025 season. With an impressive 11 wins out of 16 games, including a Super Bowl victory, the Eagles proved their mettle.

But here's where it gets controversial... Should we overlook their inconsistent offense? Some might argue that their success was more about defense and luck. What do you think?

Sixers: A Disappointing D-

The Sixers had a rough year, and their grade reflects that. However, there's a glimmer of hope with the drafting of VJ Edgecombe. Edgecombe's progress has been a breath of fresh air, especially after the disastrous 2024-25 season.

And this is the part most people miss... The offseason moves by GM Daryl Morey, including the signings of Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow, provided some stability. But the messy contract situations and injuries dragged the team down.

Flyers: A Solid C+

The Flyers' grade is all about their growth and decision-making. Missing the playoffs for the fifth year in a row is a concern, but there are signs of improvement. The firing of Coach Tortorella and the hiring of Rick Tocchet brought a much-needed change in culture.

The Flyers' draft picks, especially Porter Martone, show promise for the future. With Tocchet's guidance and some key additions, the Flyers are on the right track.

Phillies: A Solid B

The Phillies dominated the NL East, winning 96 games, their best performance in over a decade. However, expectations were higher, and they fell short of the World Series.

Despite having an incredible starting rotation and star players like Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner, the Phillies struggled with consistency. The bullpen issues and the lack of a true right-handed cleanup hitter were significant setbacks.

So, is a B grade fair for the Phillies? Or should they have aimed higher?
