MassivelyOP's 2025 Awards: MMO Expansion of the Year
Welcome back to MassivelyOP's annual MMORPG awards for 2025! We're excited to present the award for the MMO Expansion of the Year, which was awarded to Guild Wars 2's Janthir Wildslast year. Every major update and expansion to an MMORPG was eligible for this award, as long as it launched in this calendar year. Don't forget to cast your own vote in the just-for-fun reader poll at the very end!

Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity
"While I was initially unsure about it, I would say at this point that Guild Wars 2's cadence change to smaller, more frequent expansions is a resounding success, given that it is taking home our Best Expansion award for the third year in a row. Guild Wars 2 has always been a pretty game that still holds up despite its 13-year lifespan. But Visions of Eternity has brought that to a whole new level, with a stunning variety of colorful tropical flora and fauna. Its story introduced us to Vloxx, who is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting villains in the game's history. (At least I think he is the villain?) Perhaps best of all, the elite specs it brought with it have added a lot of interesting new twists on each of the existing classes, which should give newbies and veteran players alike plenty of combat options to experiment with for the coming year. Add to that next year's promise of new raid content and some big quality-of-life improvements, and Visions of Eternity is certainly deserving of our 2025 Best Expansion award." -MOP's Colin
