D'station Racing Unveils GT300 Plans, Fuji GTE Test Imminent
In a recent development, D'station Racing has become the latest team in the SUPER GT GT300 class to finalize its plans for the upcoming season, with the Aston Martin squad maintaining its unchanged lineup. Based at Fuji Speedway, the team will once again field the No. 777 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo for Tomonobu Fujii and Charlie Fagg, who are set to continue their partnership for a third season. This decision comes after they secured two wins in the Fuji sprint round last year, ultimately finishing 12th in the championship despite a challenging second half of the campaign that saw them fail to secure any top ten finishes.
Dunlop has been confirmed as D'station's tire supplier for what will be the final season of open tire competition in SUPER GT. The No. 777 Aston Martin is scheduled to participate in the GT Entrants' Association (GTE) organized test at Fuji next week, followed by the first of two official pre-season tests at Okayama International Circuit on March 6-7. Up to 22 cars are expected to attend the Fuji GTE test on February 17-18.
While several teams, including PONOS Racing, Anest Iwata Racing, Seven x Seven Racing, Velorex, and JLOC (which will field two cars at Fuji), have yet to officially confirm their plans for the upcoming season, newly-announced GT300 outfit Rookie Racing is set to be present with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, listed with the number 32 on a provisional entry list. Tsuchiya Engineering, which will also be present at Fuji next week, revealed last Friday that it has signed Formula 4 graduate and ex-Honda junior driver Ryota Horachi to drive its Toyota GR Supra GT300 alongside Takamitsu Matsui, replacing Kimiya Sato in the team's lineup after a difficult 2025 campaign.
Beyond its SUPER GT program, D'station has also revealed plans to contest the top ST-X class in Super Taikyu with a Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, shared by Fujii, team owner Satoshi Hoshino, and team newcomer Yuta Kamimura. Additionally, the team will field a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the ST-1 class for Tatsuya Hoshino, Tetsuya Tanaka, Kenji Hama, and Taiga Kabaki.
With these announcements, D'station Racing is poised to make a strong showing in the upcoming seasons of both SUPER GT and Super Taikyu, showcasing its commitment to competitive performance and strategic partnerships.
