In an impressive display of teamwork and skill, the Chicago Bulls triumphed over the Dallas Mavericks with a score of 125-107 on Saturday night, marking a significant turnaround after their recent three-game losing streak. Coby White led the Bulls with an outstanding performance, contributing 22 points to the scoreboard, while Ayo Dosunmu closely followed with 20 points.
The Bulls showcased remarkable depth in their offense, with seven players scoring in double figures. They dominated the fast-break opportunities, outscoring the Mavericks 38-8 in that category, and remarkably never found themselves behind throughout the game. Both Nikola Vucevic and Matas Buzelis each added 15 points to the Bulls' tally, helping the team achieve an impressive shooting percentage of 51.5% from the field.
The Mavericks faced a challenging situation from the very start, as they were already missing star player Anthony Davis due to an injury. The situation worsened when head coach Jason Kidd was ejected midway through the first quarter for disputing a call made by referee Scott Foster regarding goaltending on Max Christie. Kidd's frustration led to two technical fouls, resulting in his early exit from the game.
Despite these setbacks, Ryan Nembhard had a solid outing for the Mavericks, finishing with 16 points and six assists. Rookie sensation Cooper Flagg struggled, however, managing only 11 points and a single rebound on 4-of-13 shooting. This defeat marked Dallas's second consecutive loss, following a brief winning streak of two games. Davis is currently recovering from ligament damage in his left hand, which he sustained during a recent game against Utah.
After a relatively close first period, where the Mavericks trailed by just eight points, the Bulls began to pull away in the second quarter. A decisive 13-2 run allowed the Bulls to extend their lead to 59-41, highlighted by Buzelis’s fast-break layup with approximately four minutes left in the half.
As the game progressed into the fourth quarter, the Bulls took complete control, launching a 21-4 scoring run that transformed what was a 10-point game into a commanding 115-88 lead, marking their largest advantage of the evening.
Looking ahead, the Mavericks will host the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, while the Bulls are set to visit Houston on Tuesday.
